The World Supersport 300 harness will arrive with 4 external CAN connectors. CAN is the data connection system that allows the different parts of the bike to communicate with each other – it is how the ECU sends information to the Dashboard and in the future how it will communicate through a 2 way radio system with Race Control and time keeping.

There are two CAN connectors with switched 12v supply under the seat and two at the front. Using the CAN link cable you will be able to directly power your transponder from the start of the season (but remember that you need to connect it to the USB activator/charger dock occasionally to keep it activated).

You can use another connector to attach your own choice of Datalogger and keep your data in the format that you like.

In 2021 the championship may use a two way Mylaps system to communicate penalties, flags and warnings – and you still have one CAN connector spare – maybe a tyre pressure monitoring solution in the future…..

The CAN messages for the Supersport classes will be consolidated, so all loggers will be compatible with both classes (600 will move to a standardised setting across all machines). The CAN ‘templates’ can be found here in our downloads section.
